Consistency Challenge – BibEvents
1. Information We Collect
We may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Emergency contact (if required)
- Payment information (processed via third-party payment gateways)
- Strava profile and authorized activity data
Manual activity submissions are not collected.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to:
- Register you for the challenge
- Verify activity completion
- Display progress
- Communicate challenge updates
- Improve platform functionality
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Strava Data
If you connect Strava:
- We access only the data you authorize.
- Your Strava activity data — activities, distances, routes, locations and times — is used exclusively for challenge tracking and verification.
- We never share Strava data with advertising or analytics providers, and never use it to target ads.
- The one place any Strava-sourced information is shown publicly is the Finisher Wall, described below, and only your name and profile picture.
You may revoke access at any time through your Strava account settings. You may request deletion of stored Strava-related data by contacting: support@bibevents.com. Deletion may impact eligibility in active challenges.
Public Finisher Wall
If you complete a challenge within your buffer days, you appear on our public Finisher Wall at /finishers. It shows the name you registered with, your profile picture, which challenge you completed, the date you finished, how many of that challenge’s days you completed, your longest streak, and — if you have completed more than one — how many other challenges you have finished. It is visible to anyone, including search engines.
Your profile picture is copied to our own storage when you finish and is served from our domain, so the page never loads images from Strava or any other third party, and your listing is unaffected if you later disconnect Strava. We do not publish your activities, routes, locations, times, contact details or any day-by-day record. Participants who did not complete within their buffer days are not listed at all.
If you would prefer not to appear, email support@bibevents.com and we will remove you. Removal affects the public page only — your challenge history, certificate and account are unchanged.
How to disconnect Strava
Open your Strava account settings, navigate to connected apps, and revoke BibEvents access. You can also request deletion of stored Strava-related data by contacting support@bibevents.com.
4. Data Sharing
We may share limited data with:
- Payment processors
- Technical service providers
- Legal authorities when required by law
Strava data is not shared for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site and to measure our advertising:
- Essential cookies that keep you signed in and secure your checkout.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) — measures which ads lead to a registration and helps us show relevant ads.
- Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager — tells us how visitors move through the registration flow.
These advertising and analytics tools may receive your IP address, browser and device information, and the pages you view on this website. They load only on our public and registration pages — they are not loaded on your participant dashboard.
When you complete a registration, we also send Meta a record of that registration directly from our servers, so that we can measure which ads led to it even if your browser blocks tracking scripts. This record includes the challenge you joined and the amount you paid, together with the name, email address, phone number, city, pincode, gender and date of birth you entered at checkout. Those personal details are irreversibly scrambled (hashed) before they are sent, so Meta can only use them to check whether you already have an account with them — it never receives your readable email address or phone number, and it cannot recover them.
Your Strava data is never shared with advertising or analytics providers. Activities, distance, GPS, heart rate and other Strava information are used only for challenge tracking and verification, as described in section 3.
You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings, and control ad personalisation through your Meta and Google account settings. Blocking them does not affect your challenge tracking.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. However, no online system is completely secure.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to your data
- Request corrections
- Request deletion (subject to legal or operational requirements)
